Dietary Analysis:
There is no magic to any diet. Food makes you overweight and less food will cause you to lose weight. Have you ever seen a heavier person in a famine stricken area? Ever see someone gain weight while they are starving? No! Diets, diet pills and surgical procedures all work because of one simple fact: you eat less.
It’s not the type of food that made you gain weight; it’s the amount of food (we’ll discuss exercise and metabolism later). Your stomach really doesn’t care what you put into it because when your digestive system is finished, it’s all been reduced to fiber, vitamins, minerals, simple sugars (mainly glucose), simple fats, amino acids and simple proteins.
It’s like a wood mulch factory: it doesn’t matter whether its pine, oak, sycamore, or whatever…it’s all mulch out the other end.
Let me ask you this:
What produces more blood sugar?
A cup of pure table sugar
Or A cup of flour?
Answer: Flour
(Table sugar is a polymer of glucose and fructose. It actually contains half as much glucose as starch, which is a polymer of only glucose.) If you’re struggling with high blood sugars, it’s not coming from the sweets you’re eating but in the total amount of carbohydrates you’re consuming.
Your goal: Eat Less
So how are you going to measure the amount of food you’re eating? Count Calories? Weigh your food? Measure portions? We’ve done that for you. It’s called: The Perfect Plate™.
